Typescript copy of the reminiscences, 1881-1931, of James Donaldson recounting life in New York City and his career in the drygoods firm of A.S. Haight & Co. He writes of his Scottish immigrant parents, his boyhood jobs, the Blizzard of 1888, election campaigns, financial panics, famous speakers he heard in New York, vacations in Florida, the Berkshires and Europe, and civic events such as the U.S. Grant funeral and the Hudson-Fulton celebration of 1909.
